For the Bourbon Pineapple Chutney

Method

For the Brown Sugar Crusted Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into patties that are slightly larger than your burger buns.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

For the Toppings

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

  2. 5

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking the patties, place a slice of white cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of a burger bun, place a lettuce leaf, the cooked patty with melted cheese, two strips of bacon, and then the top half of the bun.

For the Bourbon Pineapple Chutney

  1. 7

    Cook the Chutney Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine diced pineapple, brown sugar, bourbon, red onion, apple cider vinegar, grated ginger, and salt.

  2. 8

    Simmer the Chutney

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

  3. 9

    Serve the Chutney

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving on top of the assembled burgers.
