Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well using your hands or a spoon until all the spices are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, making them slightly larger than the burger buns since they will shrink while cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook each side for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F / 70°C). If desired, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty. Top with a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Finish with the top half of the bun.
