Brussels Sprouts
Sweet Chili Sauce
Method
Preparation of Brussels Sprouts
- 1
Trim and Halve the Brussels Sprouts
Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Trim off the stem ends and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.
- 2
Toss with Seasonings
In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure the sprouts are evenly coated.
Roasting Brussels Sprouts
- 3
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 4
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts out in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut side down.
- 5
Roast
Roast the Brussels sprouts in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.
Making Sweet Chili Sauce
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, Sriracha, minced garlic, cornstarch, and water.
- 7
Cook Sauce
Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a simmer. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 8
Remove from Heat
Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
Tossing and Serving
- 9
Toss with Sauce
In a large bowl, drizzle the sweet chili sauce over the roasted Brussels sprouts and toss until they are well coated.
- 10
Serve
Transfer the crispy Brussels sprouts to a serving platter and enjoy immediately.
