Method

Baking Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and grease four ramekins.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugar and Eggs

In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, large eggs, and egg yolks until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, mixing until combined.

  5. 5

    Add Flour

Sift in the all-purpose flour and gently fold it into the chocolate mixture until just combined.

  6. 6

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Allow the cakes to cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert onto plates. Serve immediately while warm to enjoy the molten center.
