BBQ Pulled Pork
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork
In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mix all over the pork shoulder.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add apple cider vinegar and half of the BBQ sauce. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the pork using two forks, then return it to the slow cooker. Stir in the remaining BBQ sauce.
- 4
Assemble the Sandwiches
Toast the sandwich buns if desired. Place a generous portion of the pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun, top with coleslaw, and cover with the top half of the bun.
