For the Fried Chicken Sandwich
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Add chicken thighs and ensure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a shallow dish, place the flour and season it with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Bread the Chicken
Remove chicken from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour, pressing lightly to adhere.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken in the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each burger bun, spread mayonnaise and drizzle with hot sauce. Place a piece of fried chicken, topped with pickles, lettuce, and sliced tomatoes. Add the top half of the bun.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
