Fried Chicken Wings
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken wings and ensure they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for better flavor.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In another bowl, place the all-purpose flour. You can season it with additional salt and pepper if desired.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 4
Coat the Chicken Wings
Remove the marinated wings from the refrigerator. Dredge each wing in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- 5
Fry the Chicken Wings
Carefully place the coated wings in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried wings and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve on slices of bread with hot sauce on the side for dipping.
