Method
Preparation
- 1
Clean the Crabs
Rinse the hard shell crabs under cold water to remove any debris. Ensure they are alive and fresh. For the snow crab cluster, you can also rinse it gently.
- 2
Prepare the Shrimp and Clams
If using frozen shrimp, thaw them in cold water for about 30 minutes. For the clams, make sure they are scrubbed clean and any opened clams are discarded.
Cooking
- 3
Steam the Hard Shell Crabs
Place the cleaned hard shell crabs in a steamer basket over boiling water. Steam for 15-20 minutes until the shells turn bright orange.
- 4
Steam the Snow Crab Cluster
Add the snow crab cluster to the steamer basket with the hard shell crabs. Steam for an additional 10-15 minutes until heated through.
- 5
Steam the Shrimp
In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and place the shrimp in a steamer basket. Steam the shrimp for 5-7 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
- 6
Fry the Popcorn Shrimp and Clam Strips
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the popcorn shrimp and clam strips in batches for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- 7
Steam the Clams
In a large pot, bring 1 inch of water to a boil. Add the cleaned clams, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes until they open. Discard any unopened clams.
