For the Fish Sticks

For the Dipping Sauce

Preparation

Preparing the Fish Sticks

1. Cut the Fish

Cut the fish fillets into stick-shaped pieces, about 1 inch wide and 3-4 inches long.

2. Set Up Breading Station

Prepare a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

3. Bread the Fish

Coat each fish stick first in the flour, shaking off the excess, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Press down gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere.

Frying the Fish Sticks

4. Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

5. Fry the Fish Sticks

Carefully add the breaded fish sticks to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

6. Drain and Keep Warm

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fish sticks from the oil and drain on paper towels. Keep warm in an oven set to low heat while frying the remaining pieces.

Preparing the Dipping Sauce

7. Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, lemon juice, and chopped dill pickles until well combined.

8. Serve

Serve the hot fish sticks with the dipping sauce on the side.
