Preparing the Burger Patty

1. Form the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine 0.5 lbs of ground beef with 0.5 tsp of salt and 0.25 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently and form into a patty approximately 8oz in weight.

2. Grill the Patty

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patty on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Adding Cheese

3. Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking the burger patty, place your choice of cheese (Cheddar, Swiss, or Blue cheese) on top of the patty. Close the grill lid or cover with a pan to help the cheese melt.

Assembling the Burger

4. Prepare the Bun

Toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

5. Layer the Toppings

On the bottom half of the toasted burger bun, layer 1 lettuce leaf, 1 slice of tomato, 1 slice of onion, and 3 slices of pickles.

6. Add the Patty

Carefully place the grilled burger patty with melted cheese on top of the layered toppings.

7. Finish with Condiments

Spread 1 tablespoon of ketchup and 1 tablespoon of mustard on the top half of the burger bun, then place it on top of the patty to complete the burger.
