Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the jumbo shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, set up a breading station: one with all-purpose flour mixed with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.

Frying

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Bread the Shrimp

Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure the shrimp are well-coated.

  3. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown on each side.

  4. 6

    Drain and Rest

Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Sauce

Arrange the fried shrimp on a serving platter and accompany with sweet chili sauce for dipping.
