Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the fettuccine in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Making Alfredo Sauce
- 4
Melt Butter
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it is fully melted and begins to bubble.
- 5
- 6
Stir in Cream
Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- 7
Incorporate Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
- 8
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
Combining

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- 10
