Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sushi Rice

Rinse 1 cup of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice in a rice cooker or on the stovetop according to package instructions. Once cooked, let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tuna

Using a sharp knife, cut the sushi-grade tuna into thin strips or small cubes, depending on your preference for the roll.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Cucumber

Wash the cucumber thoroughly, then cut it into thin matchstick strips for easy rolling.

Make Spicy Mayo

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of Sriracha sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon of lime juice until well combined. Adjust the Sriracha to taste for desired spiciness.

Assemble the Roll

  1. 5

    Prepare the Rolling Mat

Lay a bamboo sushi mat on a clean surface and place a sheet of nori on top with the shiny side facing down.

  2. 6

    Spread the Rice

Wet your hands to prevent sticking, then take a handful of sushi rice and spread it evenly over the nori, leaving about 1 inch of nori at the top edge.

  3. 7

    Add Fillings

In the center of the rice, place a line of the prepared tuna strips, cucumber matchsticks, and drizzle with the spicy mayo.

  4. 8

    Roll the Sushi

Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the sushi away from you, applying gentle pressure to keep it tight. Roll until you reach the exposed edge of the nori. Moisten the edge with a little water to seal the roll.

  5. 9

    Slice the Roll

Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into bite-sized pieces. Wipe the knife with a damp cloth between cuts for clean slices.
