Preparation

1

Muddle Mint

In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and lime juice. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press and twist the mint leaves to release their essential oils. Do not shred the leaves; just bruise them enough to release flavor.

2

Add Shochu and Simple Syrup

Pour in the Japanese shochu and simple syrup into the glass with the muddled mint and lime juice. Stir gently to combine the ingredients.

3

Add Soda Water

Slowly pour the soda water over the mixture, filling the glass to the top. Stir gently to mix the ingredients without losing the carbonation.

Garnishing

4

Garnish the Drink

Add the lime wedges to the glass for garnish. Top with a fresh sprig of mint for added aroma and presentation.
