Shrimp Preparation

Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinating the Shrimp

In a large bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Toss well to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated. Let the mixture marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Breading

  1. 2

    Preparing the Breading Station

Set up a three-step breading station. In the first bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs until well combined. In the third bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, paprika, and dried parsley.

  2. 3

    Breading the Shrimp

Remove the marinated shrimp from the bowl. Dredge each shrimp in the flour, making sure to coat it completely. Shake off any excess flour, then dip the shrimp into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll the shrimp in the panko breadcrumb mixture until fully coated. Repeat until all shrimp are breaded.

Frying

  1. 4

    Frying the Shrimp

In a large, deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  2. 5

    Serving

Serve the crispy double crunch shrimp hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as cocktail sauce or aioli.
