Breadsticks
Alfredo Sauce
Method
Breadsticks
- 1
Prepare the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour along with olive oil and garlic powder. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Breadsticks
After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long stick shape about 6 inches long.
- 6
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 7
Bake the Breadsticks
Place the shaped breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush them with melted butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
