Ingredients
Meatballs and Sauce
Preparation
1. Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. Form mixture into meatballs, approximately 1.5 inches in diameter.
2. Cook the Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove meatballs and set aside.
3. Prepare the Sauce
In the same skillet, add crushed tomatoes and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Return the meatballs to the skillet and cover. Let simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the meatballs to cook through and flavors to meld.
4. Cook the Linguine
While the sauce is simmering, cook linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
5. Serve
Serve the meatballs and sauce over a bed of linguine. Sprinkle with additional Romano cheese before serving.
