Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tofu

Drain the tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Place a weight on top to press out excess moisture for about 15 minutes. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.

  2. 2

    Season the Tofu

In a bowl, combine the cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss the tofu cubes in this mixture until they are evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  4. 4

    Fry the Tofu

Carefully add the coated tofu cubes to the hot oil in a single layer. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. You may need to do this in batches.

  5. 5

    Add Soy Sauce

Once the tofu is crispy, remove it from the pan and drain on paper towels. Drizzle soy sauce over the hot tofu and toss gently.

  6. 6

    Garnish

Chop the green onions and sprinkle them over the fried tofu before serving.
