Prime Rib

Method

Preparing the Prime Rib

  1. 1

    Season the Prime Rib

Rub the prime rib roast with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary.

  2. 2

    Roasting the Prime Rib

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Place the seasoned prime rib on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (160°C) and continue roasting for an additional 60-80 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  3. 3

    Resting the Prime Rib

Remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Pork Ribs

  1. 4

    Season the Ribs

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, cayenne pepper, and apple cider vinegar. Rub this mixture onto the pork ribs.

  2. 5

    Cooking the Ribs

Preheat the grill or oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the seasoned ribs on the grill or in a baking dish. Brush with Angus Barn BBQ sauce and cook for about 2-2.5 hours, basting with more sauce halfway through.

Making the Au Jus

  1. 6

    Prepare the Au Jus

In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and fresh thyme. Bring to a simmer and let it reduce slightly for about 10 minutes. Strain if desired.
