Tiramisu Ingredients

Method

Tiramisu Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee

Brew strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature. This will be used for soaking the ladyfingers.

  2. 2

    Make the Mascarpone Mixture

In a mixing bowl, add the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture on medium speed until it becomes thick and creamy. This should take about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Pour the cooled coffee into a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in your serving dish.

  4. 4

    Layer the Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it evenly with a spatula.

  5. 5

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth out the top layer again.

  6. 6

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

  7. 7

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
