Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add the mostaccioli pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 10-12 minutes, until al dente.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Preparing Sauce

Cook Ground Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Toast Bread
Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
Assembling the Dish

Combine Pasta and Sauce
In a large mixing bowl, toss the drained mostaccioli with the marinara or meat sauce until well coated.

Plate the mostaccioli, top with your choice of additional toppings (sautéed mushrooms, grilled chicken, sausage links, or meatballs), and serve with garlic bread on the side.
