Pizza Dough

Method

Pizza Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until it starts to come together.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

  2. 7

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a 14-inch circle.

  3. 8

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or a prepared baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

  4. 9

    Add Toppings

Layer your desired toppings such as pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and olives over the cheese. Sprinkle dried oregano and basil on top.

  5. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
