Fettuccine and Filling
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine until al dente, about 4-5 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 2
Prepare the Ricotta Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 3
Assemble the Involtini
Lay fettuccine strips flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the ricotta filling onto the end of each fettuccine strip. Roll the fettuccine over the filling to form a roll.
- 4
Prepare Marinara Sauce
In a saucepan, heat your favorite marinara sauce over medium heat until simmering.
- 5
Bake the Involtini
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the rolled fettuccine seam-side down in the dish. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top and sprinkle with additional Parmesan if desired.
