French Fries

Method

Fried Flounder

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading

In three separate shallow bowls, place flour in the first bowl, whisk eggs and milk in the second bowl, and mix cornmeal, salt, and pepper in the third bowl.

  2. 2

    Bread the Fish

Dredge each flounder fillet in flour, dip into the egg mixture, and then coat with the cornmeal mixture.

  3. 3

    Fry the Fish

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded flounder for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

French Fries

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Cut the russet potatoes into thin strips and soak them in water for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Drain the potatoes, pat dry, and fry in batches for about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Season with salt.

Apple Sauce

  1. 6

    Cook the Apples

In a saucepan, combine chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Mash and Serve

Remove from heat and mash the mixture with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency. Serve warm or chilled.
