Truffle Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Melt the Chocolate

Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer, then pour it over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for a couple of minutes to melt the chocolate, then stir until smooth.

  2. 2

    Add Amaretto

Once the chocolate mixture is smooth, stir in the Amaretto liqueur until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour, or until the mixture is firm enough to scoop.

  4. 4

    Form the Truffles

Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, scoop out portions of the chilled chocolate mixture and roll them into balls. Then, roll each ball in the chopped nuts to coat them evenly.

  5. 5

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

In a shallow dish, combine the cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Roll each truffle in this mixture to finish.

  6. 6

    Serve or Store

Place the finished truffles on a serving plate or in an airtight container. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
