Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for approximately 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Loaf

After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and shape it into a half loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes until it puffs up.

  8. 8

    Preheat and Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
