Tuna Melt Ingredients

Method

Tuna Melt Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna Salad

In a bowl, combine canned tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, red onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

On two slices of rye bread, spread a layer of the tuna salad. Top each with two slices of Swiss cheese and two bacon strips. Place the remaining slices of rye bread on top.

  4. 4

    Grill the Sandwich

In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Add additional butter as needed.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, cut in half, and serve with potato salad on the side.
