Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oak Chips

Soak the oak chips in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during the smoking process.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Bourbon

In a smoker or grill, add the soaked oak chips and heat until they start to smoke. Place the bourbon whiskey in a glass jar or container and expose it to the smoke for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Add Flavoring Ingredients

After smoking, strain the bourbon to remove any oak chips. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, and Angostura bitters. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.

  4. 4

    Infuse and Serve

Let the bourbon sit for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve neat or over ice for a smoky, sweet finish.
