Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Form mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet and coat them in the sauce. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Assemble the Casserole
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, place the meatballs and sauce. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve
Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve open-faced on toasted bread or as desired.
