Meatballs and Sauce
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Make the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and the egg. Mix until just combined. Form into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- 2
Bake the Meatballs
Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- 3
Heat the Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the marinara sauce until hot.
- 4
Assemble the Subs
Once the meatballs are done, place 3-4 meatballs in each hoagie roll. Spoon marinara sauce over the meatballs and top with mozzarella cheese.
- 5
Bake the Subs
Place the assembled subs on a baking sheet and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot.
