Chicken Tenders
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Chicken Tenders
In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well. Add chicken tenders to the mixture and let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- 2
Batter the Chicken
In another bowl, place the all-purpose flour. Remove chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, and then dredge each tender in the flour, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the battered chicken tenders in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Prepare the Waffles
Prepare your favorite waffle batter according to instructions, or use a pre-made mix. Cook waffles in a waffle iron until golden and crispy.
- 5
Assemble the Dish
Place the cooked waffle on a plate, top with three fried chicken tenders, and add a pat of whipped butter. Serve with syrup on the side.
