Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them until they are well beaten. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Continue whisking until all ingredients are fully combined.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the pan and allow it to melt, coating the surface evenly.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Dip the Bread

Take each slice of thick bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated. Let any excess mixture drip off before placing it on the skillet.

  2. 4

    Grill the Bread

Once the pan is hot and the butter is melted, place the coated bread slices onto the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.

  3. 5

    Repeat the Process

After cooking the first batch, add more butter to the skillet if necessary and repeat the dipping and grilling process with the remaining slices of bread.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the French Toast

Once all slices are cooked, stack them on a serving plate. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve warm. Optionally, serve with syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
