Method
Cooking the Beef Patty
- 1
Prepare the Beef
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure a tender patty.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
- 3
Preparing the Toppings
- 4
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly and pat them dry. Slice the tomato into thick rounds. Set the lettuce and tomato aside for assembly.
- 5
Prepare the Pickles
If using whole pickles, slice them into rounds. Set aside.
Assembling the Burger
- 6
Toast the Buns
Optional: Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
