Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by gathering and preparing all your ingredients. Chop the onion, slice the bell pepper, mince the garlic, and slice the plantain.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large paella pan or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent.

  3. 3

    Add Rice and Seasonings

Stir in the basmati rice, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes, allowing the rice to absorb the flavors.

  4. 4

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the white wine, stirring well to deglaze the pan. Allow the wine to reduce for about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add Broth and Seafood

Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Add the seafood mix and gently stir to distribute evenly.

  6. 6

    Cook the Paella

Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the seafood is cooked through.

  7. 7

    Prepare Plantains

While the paella is cooking, heat a separate pan with a little olive oil and fry the sliced plantains until golden brown on both sides.

  8. 8

    Serve

Once the paella is cooked, remove from heat and let sit for a few minutes. Serve hot with the fried plantains on the side.
