Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beans

In a pot, cook the black beans with hogao sauce until heated through and flavors meld. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Season the skirt steak with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chorizo

In the same skillet, add the chorizo and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  4. 4

    Prepare Plantains

Peel the plantains and slice them diagonally. In the same skillet, add more olive oil if necessary and fry the plantain slices until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Cook the Rice

Prepare the white rice according to package instructions. Fluff and set aside.

  6. 6

    Fry the Eggs

In the same skillet, fry the eggs to your liking.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Bandeja Paisa

On a large plate, arrange the sliced steak, chorizo, pork rinds, fried plantains, and arepas. Add a portion of the black beans topped with hogao, a serving of rice with a fried egg on top, and slices of avocado on the side.
