Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Milk Mixture Preparation

  1. 7

    Combine Milk Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk until well blended.

  2. 8

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is baked and cooled for about 10 minutes, poke holes all over the top with a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

  3. 9

    Chill

Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

Topping Preparation

  1. 10

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.

  2. 11

    Top the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the top of the chilled cake. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon for garnish.
