Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from the heat and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.

Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Coating Ingredients

In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 6-inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat in Sugar

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
