Preparation Instructions
1. Make Hibiscus Concentrate
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers. Let steep for about 15-20 minutes.
2. Strain and Sweeten
After steeping, strain the hibiscus tea into a bowl or pitcher, discarding the flowers. While the liquid is still warm, stir in the sugar until dissolved. Add lemon juice to the mixture.
3. Cool the Concentrate
Allow the hibiscus concentrate to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate until chilled, about 30 minutes.
4. Combine with Sparkling Water
In a glass, combine 1/4 cup of the chilled hibiscus concentrate with 1/2 cup of sparkling water. Adjust sweetness if desired.
5. Serve
Add ice cubes to the glass, garnish with fresh mint leaves, and serve immediately.
