Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all ingredients and prepare the creamy rice according to package instructions. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Season the Tuna

Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Coat with Sesame Seeds

In a shallow dish, combine black and white sesame seeds. Press each side of the tuna steaks into the sesame mixture to coat.

  4. 4

    Sear the Tuna

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the coated tuna steaks and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the outside is golden brown and the inside is medium-rare. Remove from skillet and let rest.

  5. 5

    Grill the Asparagus

In the same skillet, add the asparagus and grill for about 5-7 minutes, or until tender and slightly charred.

  6. 6

    Make the Honey Soy Reduction

In a small saucepan, combine honey and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer and reduce for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  7. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, create a bed of creamy rice, top with seared tuna, and arrange grilled asparagus alongside. Drizzle with the honey soy reduction, garnish with cilantro, and add wasabi to taste.
