Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cherry Filling

In a medium saucepan, combine pitted sweet cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the mixture starts to bubble and thicken, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Dessert

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the ready-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the cherry filling into the crust, spreading it evenly.

  3. 3

    Bake the Dessert

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

  4. 4

    Serve

Slice the dessert and serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream on top, if desired.
