Pizza Dough

Method

Pizza Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.

  4. 4

    Let Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.

  2. 6

    Shape Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce

Spread the crushed San Marzano tomatoes evenly over the base of the pizza.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese and Basil

Distribute sliced Fior di latte over the sauce and scatter fresh basil leaves on top.

  5. 9

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle olive oil over the top to enhance flavor.

  6. 10

    Bake

Transfer the pizza to the oven (or onto the preheated pizza stone) and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.

  7. 11

    Serve

Allow the pizza to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
