Method

Meat Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Kefta

In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Kefta

Form the mixture into small oval-shaped patties, about 2 inches long. Set aside.

Cooking the Kefta

  1. 3

    Cook the Kefta

In a skillet over medium heat, add a bit of olive oil. Cook the kefta patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

Frying Eggs

  1. 4

    Fry the Eggs

In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed and fry the eggs to your liking (sunny-side up or over-easy). Season with salt and pepper.

Making Tzatziki

  1. 5

    Prepare Tzatziki

In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, lemon juice, and salt. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Cooking Rice

  1. 6

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine long-grain rice, water, salt, dill, and lemon zest. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.
