Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Burger Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined, then divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Vermont cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Maple Mayonnaise Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Mayonnaise

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Vermont maple syrup. Stir until well blended and set aside.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the tomato and red onion into thin rounds. Wash the lettuce leaves and set aside.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, spread a generous amount of the maple mayonnaise. Add a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, slices of tomato, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
