Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  2. 2

    Bread the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp first into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the flour mixture. Set aside on a plate.

Frying Shrimp

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the shrimp to the hot oil in batches, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips to resemble fries. Rinse in cold water to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to help achieve crispiness.

Frying French Fries

  1. 7

    Heat the Oil

In another pot or deep fryer, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Remove the fries from the water, pat dry with paper towels, and carefully add to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels, sprinkling with salt to taste.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 9

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots.

  2. 10

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, mix together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper to taste.

  3. 11

    Toss the Coleslaw

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, and toss to coat evenly. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

  1. 12

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, and lemon juice. Stir until well blended.
