Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese
Take the mozzarella cheese sticks out of the packaging and set them aside.
- 2
Breading
- 3
Coat the Cheese Sticks
Take one mozzarella stick and coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the egg, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat this process with all the mozzarella sticks.
- 4
Chill the Coated Sticks
Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes. This helps them maintain their shape when frying.
Frying
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Sticks
Carefully add the frozen mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Serving
- 7
Serve with Marinara Sauce
Place the crispy mozzarella sticks on a serving plate and serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
