Method
Prepare the Filling
- 1
Mix the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, softened cream cheese, and chopped green onions. Stir until the mixture is well combined and creamy.
Assemble the Wontons
- 2
Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the buffalo chicken filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half diagonally to create a triangle, and press to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets.
- 3
Continue Filling
Repeat the process until all the filling is used up, placing the filled wontons on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Fry the Wontons
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Wontons
Carefully add a few wontons to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Make the Blue Cheese Dressing
- 6
Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, crumbled blue cheese, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serve
- 7
Plate the Wontons
Serve the crispy buffalo chicken wontons hot, accompanied by the blue cheese dressing for dipping.
