Cube the firm tofu into bite-sized pieces and blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Beef
In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.

Incorporate Seasonings
Stir in the doubanjiang, soy sauce, and Shaoxing wine. Mix well to combine with the beef and cook for another 2 minutes.

Add Broth and Tofu
Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Gently fold in the blanched tofu cubes.

Thicken the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a bit of water to create a slurry. Slowly pour this into the skillet while stirring until the sauce thickens.
