Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steaks and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Add fresh rosemary to the skillet for flavor.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips to form fries. Soak the cut fries in water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 5

    Dry the Fries

Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with paper towels until completely dry.

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the potatoes in batches for about 5-6 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt immediately.

Optional Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Garlic Mayo

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
