Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Fillets

In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the salmon fillets.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F or 190°C). If you are using a charcoal grill, make sure to let the coals burn until they are covered with white ash.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Oil the Grill Grates

Using a paper towel dipped in olive oil, carefully wipe the grill grates to prevent sticking.

  2. 5

    Grill the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Close the lid and cook for about 6-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Flip and Finish Cooking

Gently flip the salmon fillets using a spatula. Squeeze half of the lemon over the fillets and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Salmon

Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a minute. Serve it on a plate with a fresh sprinkle of dill, if desired, and lemon wedges on the side.
