Bread and Butter

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a medium bowl, soften the unsalted butter at room temperature. Crush the garlic cloves using a garlic press or mince them finely with a knife. Add the crushed garlic to the softened butter along with salt and black pepper to taste. If using, chop the fresh parsley finely and add it to the mixture. Mix everything together until well combined.

2

Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces. Place the bread cut-side up on a baking sheet.

Cooking

3

Spread the Garlic Butter

Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread, ensuring even coverage.

4

Toast the Bread

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 10-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the butter is melted. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

5

Serve

Remove the garlic bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Cut into slices if desired, and serve warm as a delicious side or appetizer.
